DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE
Any dog running at large off the premises of the owner and not accompanied by someone having it under their control at all times is considered a public nuisance according to Article 3 of the City of Buffalo City Animal Ordinance. Owners of dogs running at large will be fined by the City. Dogs may also be impounded with fines and impound fees due before release.
All dogs 5 months of age or older must be licensed according to Buffalo City Ordinance. Proof of current rabies vaccination (vet record) is required before a license can be issued. Individuals known to have unlicensed dogs may be issued a citation and reported to the County. Licenses can be obtained in person at the Municipal Building, 245 E. 10th St. Office hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9am – 5pm. Phone: 248-2262
