Mayor and Council Seats Up at April Election
CANDIDACY PAPERS DUE BY JANUARY 7TH
Buffalo City will be electing a new mayor and council members at the April 7th election. Mayor Russ Lorenz, Jr. is not running for re-election. His seat will be open. Both Alderperson Kevin Mack and Ben Holien have taken out papers for the Mayor’s seat.
Buffalo City Council seats up for election in April are Alderperson Ben Holien’s seat and Alderperson Jeannie Czaplewski’s seat. Czaplewski has taken out papers to run for her seat again. Holien will not be filing papers for his alderperson seat leaving that seat open.
Nomination papers are due by 5pm on Jan. 7th. Papers can be picked up at the City clerk’s office or by emailing [email protected] . Nomination papers must be circulated and have at least 20 signatures of qualified voters for alderperson and 50 signatures for mayor.

It is located on the banks of the backwaters of the Mississippi River. It has an abundance of migrating birds, best fishing ever along with miles of scenic quiet streets for biking or hiking. Foelsch River Side Park has a 1 mile nature trail and open free to the public. Come off river at mile marker 747.9 to several docks. There are numerous boat ramps along the River Road.
Buffalo City is off the Wisconsin Great River Hwy. 35 on 0 or 00, about fifty miles North of La Crosse, WI. Population: 1,023.
